Great book for you new 40D owners

Just picked it up myself from B&N

It's good because if you're just getting into the world of digital SLR, it not only explains some key photography basics, but goes through more in depth what all of the settings on your new camera do. They even have pictures in the book that people took, and they detail all of the settings on the camera you need to punch in, as well as how to punch them in.

Also covered are accessories like the speedlights and how they work with the 40D.

I've always wondered if those books are worth it. I have pretty much flown by the seat of my pants and just try random things to see how the turn out....it doesn't always turn out well, but then its fun trying to get the perfect shot.

That is another excellent book for those who are just starting out and don't fully understand how a SLR/D-SLR works in terms of manual settings for exposure, etc. Lots of pictures and good explanations.
