The 9700 Pro is a fast as a GF 6800 and a 6600GT for the most part. But add in the fact that it is an AGP all in wonder and costs less than either.....

I think is a great deal.

Now I know why I don't post here much!

The 9700 AIW Pro is a way better card than a 6600gt. It is faster in most every respect. Has a 256 bit bus. It does a lot more except no Bleeding edge DX9 C stuff. Add in the remote control and the AIW features and you have a great Card.

But no someone has to say that Yoda knows more.

I'll be back in 6 months or so. When these forums have grown up.

The 9700 pro is a great card. I still have it after three years and it runs all the games I put on them at 1024 *768. However, it is not faster than the GF 6600GT or the GF 6800. those video cards are the best bang for the buck right now. The only thing that , I think, makes this a decent price is the TV tuner capabilities.

I have a 9700pro myself, and I don't see a need to upgrade it without doing the whole shooting match (mobo, cpu, memory). Otherwise I fear that the system will bottleneck the faster video card.

in many many many benchmarks a 6800 is AT LEAST twice as fast as a 9700 pro.
the 6600GT is MUCH faster then the 9700 pro.

Don't get me wrong, the 9700 pro was a great card at one time (I have one, and it has been great foro me), However, it's FAR from a high performance card by todays standards. In case you did not know this, the current year is 2005.
The 9700 was released in 2002.

if you want a lowend to midrange performing video card that can also do video capturing, then the 9700 pro AIW is great for you. Otherwise, don't bother with it.

Man, that chart makes me feel kind of lovey dovey towards my 9700pro. MAN that was a great card for a long, long time. It didn't seriously get its ass kicked until the 6800. *sniff*. R.I.P. 9700pro. Or better yet, just keep trucking until I replace you this summer.
