I've been trying to find some reviews on 19" 16ms lcd's, including the search button on AnandTech. Please share which 19" 16ms LCD you believe is the best in quality (Gaming, Color) and thin bezel.

I'm looking for something like the - Samsung 191T "19 LCD, Review found here http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/samsung-191t/

Only problem is that it's not a 16ms LCD.

Is there anything that looks similiar to that beautiful looking LCD.

I want a 2001FP! And I think it's tremendously better looking than the boring 191T.

I don't think Dell makes their own LCD's. Most likely the LCD is made by a different manufacturer and rebadged with a Dell logo.

You can actually get some great deals through Dell. I am waiting for the new one to hit the $500 mark before I get it. I think the asking price is going to be around $1000 when it starts selling. Should hit the $500 mark within 18-24 months. I just hope my CRT can last another 2 years.

What's wrong with a Dell LCD?

Absolutely nothing. The only reason i'm avoiding Dell is because my last three pc's and all of my families pc's are Dell. I just can't stand seeing another "Dell" logo. It's as if they do it on purpose, with the crooked E in the middle..*Sigh* :)

Dell doesn't actually MAKE anything, all rebrand and assembly if I'm not mistaken.

Dell has great prices when they have sales and such. If you're leary about seeing another Dell logo on your unit, either scratch it off or buy a different frame. Hell, I'd sell you my Samsung if you wanted it so bad.

How good is the Samsung 191T for gaming. How does it compare to the smaller 173T?

Thanks,

Define 'make'. Most of the LCD screens are manufactured by a small handful of plants, which can be probably be said for most of the componentry inside our computers and peripherals. "Brands" select different parts depending on their philosophy / price point and offer the goods for retail sale.

The current 20" Dell has become the virtual standard against which other all 20"ers are measured.

I agree, that looks like a Samsung display. Keep an eye on the markets.

I believe the panel for the 2001 lcd deal will be made by Sharp

The 2001FP is made by LG.Philips LCD. Sharp does not OEM out to non-sharp monitor companies.

The NEC 2080UX+ is also going to use the same panel.

I talked to Samsung today about the 12ms 172X which looks interesting. a 19" version will probably show up in 4-5 months. Samsung isnt exactly the type of company to jump all over new technology unless they invent it coughDLPcough.

Thanks,

dunno how it compares but my 191T is a cracking monitor - have no qualms at all about using it for games.

If you get one make sure you use the DVI-D input, theres a small but noticable increase in image quality.

You're gonna be waiting awhile, the 2000fp that has been out for well over a year is still around $900

If you're sick of Dell's logo, then you must fall from toix shock when you see Microsoft's logo. I'm thinking Dell for my next LCD. Nothing wrong with competitive priced quality parts.
