Dogman's Grease Roundup, with internal diode testing
and for comparison,
HardOCP grease comparison
The internal diode CPu was at ~66W. The Hardocp test cpu had a heat output of about ~95W.
Despite the massive wattage differences, the magical internal diode tests show greater temp differences across the board than the hardOCP test....
again, this is simply more proof of the compressed nature of socket-thermistor readings, and why testing is absolutely bunk on socket-thermsitor test platforms... For example, the Difference between nanotherm ICE and Arctic Silver II according to HardOCP is only 1.66C @95W, whereas internal diode shows 3C @66W. Take the numbers as you like it, but it looks like there's at least a good 3 to 1 compression overall, if not more with the socket-thermistor.
other examples abound if you look at both reviews....
Mike
P.S. The only thing that i personally would like to have seen: Waiting of at least 48 hours for the greases to "settle" as well as a description of how he cleaned each grease off the heatsink and CPU between each test.....
