Gray/White hairs can just... revert to their original color?!

Earlier I saw a long white hair sticking out of my beard. I plucked it like I sometimes do to other prominent white/gray hairs only to find that the base and root were colored. Very dark. Full pigment.

No, I've never dyed it.

What gives? I didn't think this was possible.

Same, which is why I only pull the wild ones sticking out from the rest... occasionally. Between a third and half are white/gray. Oddly, I tried to take a picture of it and it just doesn't show. Guess this is that "beauty mode" thing so many smartphones do without the option to turn it off. Makes me look like Red Squirrel!

LOL! Reminds me about when I broke the news in Anandtech Hot Deals about Wal-Mart's GameCube Black Friday deal after they accidentally sold me one weeks early. My box/receipt scan went viral and was getting shared all over the Internet with a big prominent hair that looked like a pube.

I was letting my facial hair grow then taking it all off before each haircut (months apart). It became sort of a timer. When hairs would tickle my lips or get in my food: time for a shave and haircut!

I think sometimes hairs change colour slightly and can revert. Sometimes I find a white hair and then realize it's only white near the tip. My head hair is long now and I find them everywhere and noticed they sometimes have almost a gradient to them. Different shades of red and sometimes some white/blonde.
