Besides systems administrator and data entry, what other kinds of nighttime computer related jobs are out there?

Ding ding, we have a winner.

Graveyard technical support is great.

Dead call queue, web access, and a quiet, anything goes work atmosphere.

Tech support... There are guys here who play Everquest, set up mini golf courses around the office, and sleep... Cool.

Graveyard is probably the least public of support positions, not many people are up all night long.

Here, I am after hours "help desk". 90% of the calls are "Can you unlock my account"

5% are resetting equipment

4% are actually troubleshooting infratstructure

1% is pure utter chaos type job with no known answer, no known symptoms, google & technet stumper.

Working on a 1%er right now. Been working it for about 29 hours straight. I have my co-workers racked out on the one cot we have here to sleep on. My turn in about an hour and a half.

Anyone here with Timeplex -> Promina experience? :)

The rest of the time, I surf the net, Ars, Anand, FiringSquad, and a bevy of EQ sites. Then I work on a project.

The worst part about working nights is trying to sleep during the day. I need a cave and there better be icicles hangin from the ceiling.

I wish I could play EQ...the evil firewall gods would never allow it. It is just Unreal Tourney for me...dem bots suk!
