I'm trying to decide between having Floratam St. Augustine or UltimateFlora Zoysia grass installed for my lawn. I live in the Tampa area of Florida and I'm trying to get some advice on grass types.

I recall hearing Zoysia is better at resisting bugs. I know many developments here in Sarasota switched from St. Augustine to Zoysia

The one company I talked with about resodding my lawn suggested the zoysia grass but I have looked at a few lawns with it and they don't appear that great.

If I had my way when I lived in Florida, I would have done Crabgrass for the whole yard :D Free + no fertilizer required lol.

St. Augustine is beautiful when in it's prime condition. My grandmother has this in her yard and it looks great when it's kept up.

Bahia grass or Centipede grass have good drought tolerance. They'll turn brown during dry spells, but will grow back. I used to have St. Augustine, which looks best in my opinion, but it's too much work.

It would only be a small area ~2300 sq ft because I'm only having the front yard done.
