Nothing has changed, ATI still had the most Laptop\Integrated sales and NVIDIA had the most card sales. VIA,SiS and Matrox have practically fallen off the charts.

So...where are all the folks with the nVidia outselling ATI video cards by 4 to 1. With that said, it's still possible nVidia outsold ATI in the high end ($300+) segment by 4 to 1 but that would mean ATI sold a lot more low and mid range cards. Unfortunately these types of reports never break down the card price points, usually only list percentage of discrete cards sold by each company.

nVidia is giving ATi a beating in the notebook sector. The last good mobile ATi card released was the X1800XT but since then the 7800 GTX and 7900 Go GTX have beaten it. I don't think ATi will be able to effectively respond this generation for notebooks either because of the high power consumption of the X1K cards so nVidia pretty much has the top end mobile market to itself right now. For ATi's sake, R600 better be a thermally efficient design so that it can be easily ported to laptops. On that note, I have a laptop with a 7900 Go GS on its way ;)

No, it doesn't mean that at all; in fact that is highly unlikely. The high end discrete segment is likely ~1% of the market- if that.
