Graphics problems while playing games...

A friend of mine in my dorm is having this problem where after he plays a game for awhile (any game) the colors will get all messed up, and very pixilated looking to the point where the game is unplayable. Does anyone know what could be the cause? He's got some crappy onboard vid I'm sure.

more than likely either temps, memory, or video core issues.
have him open the case and blow a small desk fan into the case and see if it still does it. if not get more cooling in his case, if it's still doing it, try different memory, if different memory don't fix it time to get a different video solution.

GPU cooling problem, had the same problem with my original Geforce 256.

Eventually the card broke completely and i had to buy a new one..

He put the comp up on his desk, took the side off, and placed a good 12inch fan next to it blowing right in.. still had the problem. I think he's just going to call Dell.. heh.

sounds like a winner, if it's still under warranty let the dell on-site support guy/gal handle it.
