Graphics Hardware Acceleration - Linux !

Once I tried to enable the Hardware Acceleration of X-server in slackware8(no difference in the distr)
but it was a bit tricky.

I had to recomplile XFree , but then all X11 apps didn't work
But when the XFREE recompile finish the Hardware acceleration still was off.

When you use aviplay to see divx movies do you use Hardware accelaration ???
Any easy way to enable it ?

Any distr that has it compiled for a G3 ti 200 card ?

Any advice on the issue ?

Anyone tried to do something or you all reboot to a win32 enviroment and watch the movies there ?

Have you downloaded the nVidia drivers? I watch my movies on a DVD player, or in a pinch on my Mac.
