graphics comparison

what is the difference between ATIs x200, x300, and x700 video sections (assuming they all have 128mb)? Faster memory? Faster gpu? Different architecture?

Or if someone has a link to a breakdown comparison of current available notebook graphic card, that would be most helpful.

All that info was found here on ATIs site. Google is ur friend by the way.

Anyone have an opinion on which of these two cards is a better performer:

256mb x600 ($75 upgrade from 128mb model)
128mb x700 ($150 upgrade from integrated)

thanks

The x700 is most definitely better. The x600 is essentially an overclocked x300, only having 4 pipes. Don't fall for the marketing gimmick of more memory = faster card.

The X600 is a radeon 9600, if I recall. It's rather outmoded. The x300 is really a 9100 or 9200; I can't remember.
The x700, an x800-derived part, is a far stronger performer than either of them.

8 Pixel pipelines does not mean 8 rendering or vertex units. I never got ATI to get me those specs, I think I just got the pixel pipes and maybe shader (vertex) units.

9200 ~= Xpress200 (integrated)
9600 ~= X300
9700 ~= X600
9800 ~= X700
