i am looking into a few GPU's to buy for my upgrade now. There is 7950 and 7900GTX. but i realised that there was this article i once read by firingsquad which said something about the manufacturers not embedding HDCP keys onto the board itself and hence it could not truely display full HD. Does anyone know if these cards i am looking at have these keys embedded? or if they dont, which cards do?
thanks a ton. =)

ummm .. ok so i have another question. Is it mandatory for me to buy a LCD which supports HDCP to fully enjoy the content or is there a workaround?

You need to have a HDCP monitor to enjoy HD content in full glory, although HDCP has been cracked by a Dutch cryptographer thanks to DCMA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) he has refused to release it for fear of what might the US might do (See Swedish police and The Pirate Bay for a wonderful example).

EDIT: The cryptographer who cracker HDCP was Dutch not Russian

I believe the 7 on the end indicates HDCP monitor but I'm not sure, check the dell specs it'll probably say there
