Graphics Cards and MPEG-4 Encoding

Anyone know just how much of an effect graphics cards have on MPEG-4 encoding frame rates for FlaskMPEG? Does the CPU and memory make all the difference or does the graphics card matter a lot too? I have an old system with a GF2MX, looking to upgrade. TIA.

Graphics card has minimal effect on MPEG4 encoding. If you use an overlay to view some of the frames during encode this can slow things down a small amount, but there is not much to gain in this by changing graphics card.
All the speed in encoding comes from the CPU and memory.
