After hours of research in one night, I finally found the awnser to which card I want. But its a never ending cycle of questions. I figured it out and chose to wait and get the nVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra Extreme Edition instead of the ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition I just recieved today... Doesn't that suck? I figured I'll just put the ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition on eBay and maybe make an extra hundred. But now more questions arrive... Now that I've chosen to go with nVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra Extreme Edition when will they be expected to arrive and how are they sold? I'm new to nVIDIA and wanted to know how they released there products? Through people like BFG, Gigabyte, eVGA and PNY? Or do they also sell there products like ATI which is to say they would have there own Graphics Card, not modded and in there own retail box? If not then which other company they go through would be the best choice?

6800 wins in Doom3, but X800 matches or beats it in Half-Life (depending on the benchmark). The X800 is a great card, so why not enjoy it instead of worrying about a better card you can't buy?

Next year both cards will be replaced by even faster models, so your "best of all" card will stay the best for only a little while.

The onyl way you're getting an Extreme Edition is if you enter eVGA's lottery; they make 5 cards a week, and that's it. No one else seems to be shipping EE cards at this point.

On a related note, I just bought a ferrari but now I'm thinking I should trade it in and get a lambergini, what do you all think?

But seriously, what's wrong with the X800XT again?

I'd keep it simply because no one has'em. I bet your one of the only ones. Besides its super fast. Keep it.

I still want nVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra Extreme Edition. I might just put the ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition in my other computer.

You are seriously lucky you got one of either card. They are both extremely rare. I'd sell it if I were you. You'd get enough money from it to pick up either a standard 6800U or X800XT and still be able to upgrade your memory/HDD/CPU/ect.

Don't expect to be buying a 6800 UEE like it was nothing. They are litterally going for $900-1000 on ebay.

Sell it it and just get a 6800 U. Though with the way you seem to be talking about money just keep the XTPE.

get both, and swap em out and use driver cleaner when you switch back and forth between HL2 and Doom3:D

Like I said, you'll need to either win the eVGA lottery, or go eBay.

All of Nvidia's video cards are made by third parties, so BFG, eVGA, etc; although the variance between any two cards is usually non-existant, unless a company overclocks the card or uses a non-reference cooler(almost unheard of). As for the 3rd parties, I'm looking at the 6800 cards availible at Newegg right now, and besides Prolink, who I have no experience with, any of those companies would make a good card.

either keep the card of buy the other one on ebay, unless of course you're too good to pay the extra 100 that you'd be taking from someone else for the one you'd be selling? ;)
