Hello experts.

I have an older Dell XPS 410 and since I am a broke college student I was hoping to eek another year of gaming out of it before buying a new computer. I would like to upgrade my graphics card without spending money on other upgrades.

My current specs are as follows
E6400
2 gig ram
320 gig 7200 hd
geforce 7900gs
Factory dell 375 watt psu

I also have a crappy monitor and can?t afford to upgrade so I won?t be playing at more than 1280X1024 resolution.

I realize my psu limits my GPU selection somewhat. I?m just curious on what card I can use without upgrading it. I?m looking in the $125 or less arena. I play first person shooters mostly.

Thanks for any advice.

I'm not familiar with your Dell, but if it uses a pci-e slot, instead of AGP, then one possibility is the Radeon HD 4670 card... it can be bought for under $100 US, and it is very energy efficient compared to more powerful graphic cards like the 4850 etc... The 4670 gets all of its power from the pci-e slot, no need for wiring it up.

Close, I think they are down to around $120 or so... which still puts it about $50 more than the 4670. Also, not sure about how the OP's 375w PSU will handle the 8800gt, whereas the 4670 uses less power, and doesn't require an external power source.
