My old ATI 9600 XT fan has unfortunately stopped, which is a blessing in disguise as it was rather loud, so I am looking for a replacement.
My initial thought was go for a heatsink with no fan, but the case the graphics card resides in is very small, a MicroATX case.
The heatsink therefore must be know thicker than the standard single slot solution, no longer than the card and not thicker than the width of the card.
Trying to find a heatsink that fits this size seems impossible.
So can any one help with finding a heatsink design that will fit my requirements, if not I would think about another fan but the amount of noise the older one gave out does put me off.
I posted on another forum about this query and all the posts received said to buy a new graphics card, which I do not want to do, just to make that clear.
