Looking for anyone's thoughts on AGP card for a CAD system using Landdesktop 3 for civil engineering. Primarily 2D usage.

Thanks, JDJ

If its 2D and you don't need good OpenGL support, I woudl go with a Matrox G550 Dual-Head, and get two monitors.

But I've never used Landdesktop... so I'm not sure. Maybe if you provide a link the the program webpage we could tell ya more by looking at program specs...

Autodesk Landdesktop

I checked out the page myself and I'm not sure it'll be much help. Not such a power user that I need two monitors but thanks for your help.

There are plenty of good CAD cards. Check this for some reviews.

I'd suggest the Elsa Gloria III ($740 usd on Pricewatch) it's a good card.

If you're a "home" user of CAD then a Geforce 2 MX is fine. But you will not have the horse power for larger drawing files. They'll open, they'll just be sooooo sloooowww.
