graphics card question for you tech guys

I currently have a 2400+ xp processor and I'm looking to get a new graphics card. It's between a 9800 pro and a vanilla 6800. Basically I'm asking if you think I would get much of a performance boost if I go to the 6800 instead of the 9800 on my system? if the increase is going to be hardly noticable I'm prob just going to get a 9800 so, if any of you actually know the answer to this, and it isnt just an opinion, I would appreciate your input. thanks much

You would obviously be less CPU-limited with the 9800PRO, but your performance would definately be better with the 6800NU.

I would get the 6800NU if Doom3 is your thing. Here are some benchmarks on a 3200+ AXP.

I wish he had benched these cards on the 2500+ he was using but he didn't.
