My system specs:
OS: WinXP with service pack 1
Graphics Card: GeForce 5900XT with 66.17 drivers
DirectX version: 9.0c
Monitor: A not-so-popular-brand monitor (CTX X90)
After getting my new 19" monitor, I replaced my old 14" monitor with the new one, then started my PC. The new monitor was working fine. Then when I tried to access the Nvidia properites/control panel, the system hanged and restarted by itself. The same thing happened when I tried to run any applications which requires the graphics card processing (e.g., watching movies, playing games). Tried to run the DXDIAG directx diagnostic tool, but it restarted also after running that.
I tried to uninstall the Nvidia drivers, and reinstalled it with different versions, but still it cannot work. Will hang when I run anything which requires graphics processing.
Any comments about this problem? Haven't tried reformatting/system restore though...
I don't think the new 19" monitor has anything to do with this I suppose. Coz when I switched back to my 14" monitor, and reinstalled the drivers, the same problem occurs. Most probably the graphic card has problems? (Its been working fine previously also. Been playing games with it recently). Or is it the problem with the drivers or directX?
Thanks in advanced.
