I have an intel 845GVSR, a P4 2.4Ghz, 512Mb Ram and 80Gb HDD. I dont have a AGP slot in the mobo. Any way that i can connect a graphics card? Any AGP to PCI converters available? All PCI slots are empty. Please do reply, the onboard graphics seems hardly sufficient.

I agree..if this upgrade is for general use the you have ample options for older PCI cards..but if you intend to game...dont waste your money on this endever.

I'm looking at a very similar upgrade for someone I know - it seems that the GeForce FX5500 is the fastest pci graphics card you can get.

It seems that you MAY be able to do a repair installation -
Change hardware, change BIOS as you require,
Shove in XP CD, choose REPAIR current installation
In theory, it gets rid of the ole drivers, and leaves you able to install your chipset/sound/vga etc drivers from there.
If it doesn't work, you can always reformat anyway.
