Graphics Card for an 810i Board

My friend has a PC with 810i chipset. It has Intergrated Graphics in the form of ATI Rage 8Mb.

He has no AGP slot so needs to upgrade to a PCI graphics card. Yet when the local PC World tried to install a Voddo 5500 PCI it would not work.

Is there any reason why you can't install a PCI graphics card in an 810i chipset motherboard??

Double integrated graphics? The i810 chipset already has an i740 video integrated, and they added another ATi graphic chipset?

To install an external video adapter, you usually need to disable the onboard video, either through the BIOS or a jumper on the motherboard.
