Yep that's what I was hoping wasn't the problem. Try reinstalling it from the beginning maybe? I hate saying that you might need a new card

I installed ubuntu opened a simple 3d game ,there were dots. Cleaned the graphics card applied thermal paste again problem not solved. This only happens in 3d games there is no problem in desktop ,video .I'll buy another card.

I dont know what it is about crysis that damages vram but same happened to my 7900gt years ago. Also saw dots at post before booting into windows, a sure sign the card was gone. Have heard others experiencing same after playing crysis too. Will wipe the game off my drive, lost interest in it years ago.

These are rendering artefacts, specifically random dots or checkerboard patterns of incorrect colour information suggest bad vRAM on the video card, usually because the vRAM is overheating.

Ideally you need to post a graph of temperatures for the video card during full load so we can see if they're out of range or not. High temps would suggest bad or broken cooling, if the temps are normal then the vRAM might have permanent damage and you'll need to RMA the card (if its within warranty).

I took out the card but the temparature was normal between 45-62 celcius.I installed a cooler so the warranty is void.Overheating may not be the issue because card was cooled fine I didnt see over 62celcius.

Is this 62C under peak load? Is that the temp of the GPU or the vRAM or ambient?

If you modded with a custom heatsink it's possible you have a bad contact between your vRAM chips and the heatsink, either a gap so no contact, or too much thermal paste applied, or air bubbles in the thermal paste.

62C seems very low for a LOAD temp for either RAM or GPU, are you sure that's under full load?

62C is the maximum number shown by msi afterburner during the game it's the gpu temperature. It may not be the full load but its the temperature after 1 hour of game.I have no idea about the vram temperature.I applied thermal paste again didnt change but now I am removing the heatsinks from vram chips ,one of them is close contact to the pipe it may be the problem.I am using like this about a year.
