I currently have a Radeon 9800pro 256m, with a ABIT KV8 pro motherboard, 1gb of ram and a Athlon 64[tm] 3000+ proccesore. I would like to upgrade my graphics card for gameing, and i know that i support AGP slot, so what card [if any one has a refrence] should i get that price ranges between 100-120$

Depends on what kind of games you are wanting to play. If you absolutely have to upgrade now, and don't plan on playing the latest and greatest, the 7600GT that RadiclDreamer provided a link for would be your best choice. You could get a 7900GS for 160-ish AR, that is beefier than the 7600, but your processor would prolly become a bottleneck then and you wouldn't be getting the full potential out of the card.

If you're an ATI fan, take a look at the X1950PRO. It will also beat the 7600GT in performance, but also requires more power to run it, and again you would probably become cpu limited with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but your motherboard is a socket 754, right? If so, then if I were you, I would hold on to the money you have saved now....try and sell current rig and/or save some more...then start fresh, upgrading to a newer socket and pci-express. I'm just sayin

Soooo yeah, given your system specs I'd say 7600GT would be the best balance. But if want a little more beef to play some newer games (just not the absolute latest and greatest) then look at the 7900GS, or X1950PRO.

Hope this helps!

Like others have already stated...hold out on the upgrade until you can do a complete system refresh and move to a newer graphics socket. If you're set on keeping your current s754 parts just realize this one thing....The prices for AGP cards are around $30-40 higher for the same card for PCI-Express (Such as a 7600GT). The money you save buy buying the equivalent PCI-Express video card on the superior graphics socket could go towards a budget s754 board with PCI-Express support that would let you migrate all of your current hardware over to the new board. You would essentially break even, still get that better video card, and have a little more future-proofing out of the new technology on your board. Then you could send me your 9800Pro for such excellent advice (or put it up in the ForSale forums here).

My vote is still to be patient with what you have until you can afford something that will give you much more bang for your buck on a newer platform.
