Hi, I have been having some troubles with certain games displaying strange shadows (flickering, pixellated, moving strangely), certain textures in a squarish area flickering quite noticeably, and also a very thin white line can appear in corners of buildings. Titans Quest, Medal of Honor Airborne, Condemned Criminal Origins, Crysis, and a couple times in Half Life Episode 2.
I've been putting up with it, until now that I am getting into Medal of Honor Airborne, and the fourth mission has a TON of little flickering squares all over the buildings, I need to try to find a solution. My specs are in my sig, Windows XP fully updated, I have tried the Nvidia drivers off of their site (WHQL and all the BETA's since 169.21), and the drivers off of Asus's site as well. I even went so far as to format, reinstall windows clean, and put in the newest Nvidia WHQL driver. NO CHANGE. Certain games like CNC3, UT3, PORTAL, BIOSHOCK are flawless, but other games have these very consistent anomalies. I have the Asus Geforce 8800 GT with the Glaciator cooler, and it idles at 47c, after playing Crysis for 3 hours no higher than 65c. Atitool shows no errors, as does MEMTEST86+. I have never overclocked anything in my system at all.
Should I RMA this card? Can anyone else with a 8800GT (I know there are a lot of you out there) tell me if you have similiar issues? I email Asus's technical support, they asked me if it was my power supply, but it is only a year old and it exceeds the requirements.
Any suggestions would be great.
