Graphic Issue, I have no idea what causes it =\

I play the MMORPG Asheron's Call, and it was first in this game I noticed this problem.

When playing, I started having this graphic problem where I would notice these glitches in the 3d rendering.

And then the same problem started poping up on my desktop and among other applications.

The first picture is a cropped version of how I see it in AC, the second is my desktop with the background changed to black.

Now, at first I thought this was my monitor crapping out, the current one I use is about 8 or 9 years old, so this morning I switched it out with a new one, and I still get the exact same problem.

Ok, so what's next on the list here...I update my video card drivers, everything that Windows update suggests that I update....no luck there.

Then I wonder if this is related to another problem i'd been having while playing AC. After playing for a few hours, the system will completely lock up for about 15 seconds.

I'd been looking into this lockup problem for a few days now, thinking that it's a memory issue, or to that extent, a heat issue. But nothing i've been able to figure out points to either.

I was starting to wonder if it's just a bad video card, when I decided to put up that picture and ask here, and to do that I used my very convienient homestead account to just toss up a pic or two. Only thing was, everytime I tried to run the applet (Homestead uses a java applet to open a online sitebuilder) I would get as far as asking it to import a picture file before it gives me a "You do not have enough memory to complete this action, please restart your browser and try again" message. I did just that, restarted and tried it first thing. Same problem.

Which leads me again to think it's a memory issue.

*pulls out hair*

Any advice is apreciated. Thanks.

It's a Geforce4 TI 4200, I have checked it's fan, and it seems to be working fine :|

Any suggestions as to what kind of app I could use to check for a memory problem?
