currently i own an msi 6800ultra in agp socket.its nice to move to an 7800gtx?or its better to wait for something better?also gimme some opinions about a good cpu,well overclocked capabilities-amd of course- and in a good price.im thinking for a 3400 754s.my current cpu is a 3000 754s.
 
Supposedly, nVidia will not release an agp version of the 7800GTX. So if you only have an agp board and want to upgrade no matter what, I'd say you'll need a new board/setup. But w/ a 6800 Ultra, you're not handicapped so I really wouldn't be worried. If you must upgrade and you're swimming in loot, go for it.
 
He's right. There's really no need to upgrade, unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket. If you have, just give it to me 😀.
 
well is it a good move a 3400 754s?because i dont want to give a fortune now for a cpu.or maybe giving 35 euro for the 939 asrock upgrade module and then a 3500.oh i dont know.ouf.HELP
 
I can tell you one thing. I seriously want to see Unreal Tournament 2007. I want to get a dual core CPU next year, a Geforce 8 (coming summer 2006) and a Physics Processing Unit (not out yet I believe).
If you wanted to do the same, maybe just replace the CPU. I read that the Geforce 6200 and ATI 9800 should be able to play UT2007. I don't know how the 6200 could manage that because it can barely handle games like Doom3 etc now. With your 6800, you should be able to play games until next year. (use Bizrate or shopping.com or pricegrabber.com or .ca to find good prices)
 
i see.well i really want to go for an 4400 but its too heavy for me right now.and my 3000 is already overclocked at 2.27.but im a little comfused because i cant see any difference.only in 3d mark score which gave me cpu score 3954.i dont know how to overclock my cpu and memories.and my 3000 has a nwecastle core.maybe i ll give some money for a used 3400.just to "free" the 6800ultra
