Graphic Card Problems

Hi I have recently bought the Abit Siluro Geforce 4 Ti4200 128MB. I installed it properly and when i boot up i get these streaks of lines and unreadable letters on my bios screen, but when it gets into windows everything is fine. So i figured thats only a minor problem and wont have to worry bout it. So i go to install the drivers off the CD they give me and i restart after installation and after the windows XP loading screen, my monitor shuts off and i get no display right before it starts into windows. So i restart and windows gives me an option to either start up normally or load up recent settings that worked. so I load up recent settings so i can change the drivers to the new 41.72's and after restart i get no display again. So i had to put back my old video card. What Could be the problem?
Any help will be appreciated.

I have almost the exact same problem. I am using an ATI AIW Radeon 32MB and after i install the latest drivers windows XP doesnt get past the loading screen. i get these horizontal lines and then i get a no video signal. When i install older drivers, windows XP boots just fine. I would call ATI tech support except its $2/min. You might want to try Nvidia tech support. Please let me know if you get an answer!

Even the old drivers doesnt give me any video signal. I was only able to boot up fine when it loaded up as a VGA adapter.
