OK, I'm wondering about cooling for graphic cards [vga coolers?].

Any brands to look out for? Any to avoid? Must have features? Difference between fan or no fan?

I'm hoping this thread can be generalised so people can search and find it.

Ive seen some zalman fans online which look pretty impressive. My worry is that my case isn't verry well ventelated. I probably won't be overclocking but i want to make shure everything is running smoothly as possible. And that anything I buy will last for when I upgrade.

Q

PS Oooh, pretty. Zalman VF1000

I am personally a fan of the VGA cooler of the style that blows the hot air out the side of the case, as opposed to recirculating it inside the case.

I am not a fan of huge heatsink/fan combos that block additional PCIe/PCI ports that I have paid good money for.

I've never seen a vid heatsink that was a blower type that didn't take up an additional slot. It sounds like you are at odds with yourself.

The Zalaman VF1000 has been getting fairly high marks in reviews. The VF900CU from the past generation is also an excellent performer.

Zalman is pretty nice, but expensive.
Arctic Cooling makes some good silent stuff... Not sure what fits the 8600GT. Maybe the Accelero S2 with a fan strapped onto it.
Thermalright makes the massive HR-03
Aerocool is coming out with something...
