Granite Bay-just to be clear

Hi,
I'm run a P4 2.53 G at either 140FSB (RDRAM at 4x/approx 3400-3500 in Sandra mem) or 150FSB(RDRAM at 3
x- forget the exact but much lower, maybe 2700 Sandra mem).
I've been wanting to upgrade to a 845PE based board with DDR but don't need the extras like USB2 and have been told here and other places that the perf improvement won't be worth it unless the CPU will handle very high FSBs.
So now I'm looking Granite Bay but I have a question on memory.
The GB has only a 1:1 ratio so can I assume that to get great mem perf you need high FSB?
With that in mind, if my CPU won't do over 150FSB, no matter what DDR, 300, 3200, or 3500 I won't see any benefit memory-wise from the GB?
TIA,
Mike G

GB is and was meant to be a workstation board.

If you want a fast desktop board wait until Evans review of the SiS655 comes up sometime early this week.

Thanks, I'll check it out.
Still want to make clear, w/o a CPU that will do high FSBs, I won't gain perf. from any of the new(er) boards with DDR?

If you already have an RDRAM system, I suggest skipping the Granite Bay and going to a Canterwood chipset based board, which really will show some performance improvement.

Going from an i850(E) to an i845PE is a downgrade.

Thanks Andy, that's what I've been thinking, bring on Canterwood!
