Gigabyte just released some info on the new 8INXP, Gigabyte's first motherboard to utilize the Intel E7205 Chipset, bringing Dual Channel DDR to the Pentium 4 (long overdue in my opinion.)

My curiousity centers around the patented "Dual Power System, a cool stylish neon blue Dual Power Voltage Regulator Module (DPVRM) that supply a total of 6 phase power circuit design, delivers a high durable power design for the new generation Intel platform."

You can check out a picture of it here: http://www.giga-byte.com/products/6dual_miracle.htm

and board specs here: http://www.giga-byte.com/products/8inxp.htm

I just wanted to share this with the Anandtech community as I haven't seen any posts about it yet and think it looks really cool. I wonder if this will really help the P4's 3 GHz and up and I wonder if this will be the start of something all motherboard manufacterers will start adopting?

Only time will tell I guess. It looks like it would really mess up the airflow in a computer tower, so I am looking forward to seeing a review of this board sometime soon! You listening Evan?

Looks promising. I love manufacturers coming up with innavative technology. Anything claiming to provide "Greater over clocking capabilities" is a plus (if it works).

There's some more good pics and info HERE.

With a retail price around $200, I doubt you would wanna put a Celeron on this board. I still haven't seen a specific date for this board. Some are saying we won't see them until January.

As for onboard sound, it is nowhere close to an SBLive. This isn't a very good sounding solution, and it will use up some CPU resources, so you would be much better off spending $35 on an SBLive Value.

In other news, Anand has reviewed this board in the E7205 review. You might wanna check that out.

We were skeptical about Gigabyte's DPS (Dual Power System) system at first, even if it did turn the 8INXP into a 6-phase motherboard. After numerous benchmarks and overclocking tests, we can safely conclude that DPS does absolutely nothing for overclocking stability or otherwise. Not surprisingly, performance was the same as was general stability. However, we would be interested in knowing if DPS does anything for the longevity of the onboard components as well as the motherboard itself.
