I'd be one of the last people to stand up for dumbya and kin, but he's not responsible for his families past. I know some very dark things about my family's past, but also some very good things as well. That being said, I hope that the families suing for damages get the retribution they deserve.

a. this is almost 3 years old

The Anti-Defamation League in the US is supportive of Prescott Bush and the Bush family. In a statement last year they said that "rumours about the alleged Nazi 'ties' of the late Prescott Bush ... have circulated widely through the internet in recent years. These charges are untenable and politically motivated ... Prescott Bush was neither a Nazi nor a Nazi sympathiser."

Kwaipie:

You'd probably also be interested in Papa Joe Kennedy; Nazi Symp, mob connected, and a bootlegger.

He made a great deal of money brokering & transporting sugar to the bootleggers & moonshiners as well.

Pretty convincing article, there are others, google it.

The apple truly doesn't fall far from the tree.

He apparently wanted to overthrow Roosevelt and cure the depression with Nazi and Fascist principles. Great idea!

And Robert Byrd was a grand master wizard dragon whatever of the KKK, and he is still serving as a Democrat in congress, whats your point?

Yeah, those Boners suck...errr...swallow...er...yeah.

This is pathetic. As somebody said above, I am not one to defend Bush, but he had no part in this. There are plenty of people who have done bad things in the past or their families have.

Well, it's a rather long article and I could only get about halfway through it, but sounds like pretty thin gruel to me.

I stopped reading when he said nothing done was illegal (about halfway down).

I guess I really don't give a crap about Prescott Bush, just some old dead guy to me.

Well, if you go by the record back in the day, Prescott Bush was one evil bastard. Profit at all costs, trading with the enemy be damned. Of course there was a huge portion of our country, particularly in the business sector, that was pro-Nazi by default. If you want a mind-blowing read, check out Henry Ford's book "The international Jew, The World's Foremost Problem". It includes chapters on Germany and Berlin, was written just BEFORE Mein Kampf, and reads like the framework for anti-Semitic justifications. Pretty wild, I saw a documentary on WW2 that interviewed American soldiers from Easy Company, and after the Battle of the Bulge busted for the Germans, they had to leave their equipment and trucks behind, as they were out of fuel. They spoke of how disheartening it was to see the Ford Emblem on so many Nazi vehicles. Ford Moterwerke, using near-slave labor in occupied France, continued to feed the Ford Motor Company bottom line with Nazi money. Ditto for IBM, they continued to send technicians to service their punch-card computers that helped the regime keep track of it's concentration camp prisoners. Those numbered tattoos that they used? Courtesy of IBM. I have a great pic of an IBM machine with a gold embossed Swastika on the top.

Roosevelt was a socialist, hard-left guy, nearly communist. The only thing that sets him apart from the modern far-left was his thirst for international conflict and conquest. There's an incredible book that details White House correspondence regarding the attack on Pearl Harbor, and by any logical analysis, he WANTED it to happen so that he could get into the 2nd world war.

In retrospect, I think they're all scumbags. Hitler, Ford, Roosevelt, the IBM guys, Prescott Bush and his 'Hamburg Amerika' / money laundering BS, etc. Not a one gave a crap about anyone or anything outside of their own profit or agenda. I have much greater respect for men like Churchill and Rommel, if we're looking at that era.

Modern Republicans and Democrats are still scumbags, so I guess nothing really changes, eh?

Isn't it the Bible that tells us the sins of the father are visited upon the son?

As was said before, Bush has many things to own up to and explain; this, however, isn't one of them. That said, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if it were true. After all, Adolf's own nephew lived in England and the US, and supported the Allies in WW II. Blood relative doesn't always mean loyal supporter.

Can I have what you're smoking? Good s*** if you think he's not out of office in a year and a half.

I hope many of you understand that much of the business community was supportive of the Nazi?s at first because they believed they would deal with the communist problem.
Most of them hated Jews as well and viewed the Nazi treatment of the Jews as just a side issue. (I don?t know if Granpa Bush was anti-Semitic, but I know Joe Kennedy Sr was.)

Indeed so, but we gave him to ourselves. God voted for Gore.

Honestly I do not trust any politicians. Makes voting hard I know, but I feel any of them would tell me what I wanted to hear if it meant they would win an election or popularity contest.

Wow. The American government knew Auschwitz existed before they "stumbled upon it" but was basically bought off by Prescott to not bomb it because it would have destroyed the free labor they were getting out of the concentration camps. Absolutely disgusting. I hope he is rotting in hell.

Sounds like the death knell of the political process.

IIRC, the bible does say that war is a punishment for our sins.

LOL, I imagine God would like for society to act in a way that would prevent the need for government all together.
