I like to think that I'm rather well educated, yet I had heard nothing of this.
Pretty convincing article, there are others, google it.
The apple truly doesn't fall far from the tree.
He apparently wanted to overthrow Roosevelt and cure the depression with Nazi and Fascist principles. Great idea!
And Robert Byrd was a grand master wizard dragon whatever of the KKK, and he is still serving as a Democrat in congress, whats your point?
Well, if you go by the record back in the day, Prescott Bush was one evil bastard. Profit at all costs, trading with the enemy be damned. Of course there was a huge portion of our country, particularly in the business sector, that was pro-Nazi by default. If you want a mind-blowing read, check out Henry Ford's book "The international Jew, The World's Foremost Problem". It includes chapters on Germany and Berlin, was written just BEFORE Mein Kampf, and reads like the framework for anti-Semitic justifications. Pretty wild, I saw a documentary on WW2 that interviewed American soldiers from Easy Company, and after the Battle of the Bulge busted for the Germans, they had to leave their equipment and trucks behind, as they were out of fuel. They spoke of how disheartening it was to see the Ford Emblem on so many Nazi vehicles. Ford Moterwerke, using near-slave labor in occupied France, continued to feed the Ford Motor Company bottom line with Nazi money. Ditto for IBM, they continued to send technicians to service their punch-card computers that helped the regime keep track of it's concentration camp prisoners. Those numbered tattoos that they used? Courtesy of IBM. I have a great pic of an IBM machine with a gold embossed Swastika on the top.
Roosevelt was a socialist, hard-left guy, nearly communist. The only thing that sets him apart from the modern far-left was his thirst for international conflict and conquest. There's an incredible book that details White House correspondence regarding the attack on Pearl Harbor, and by any logical analysis, he WANTED it to happen so that he could get into the 2nd world war.
In retrospect, I think they're all scumbags. Hitler, Ford, Roosevelt, the IBM guys, Prescott Bush and his 'Hamburg Amerika' / money laundering BS, etc. Not a one gave a crap about anyone or anything outside of their own profit or agenda. I have much greater respect for men like Churchill and Rommel, if we're looking at that era.
Modern Republicans and Democrats are still scumbags, so I guess nothing really changes, eh?
