June 1 (ABC7) ? San Mateo County sheriff's deputies are investigating a case of elder abuse after an East Palo Alto woman's grandmother was hospitalized after being left alone for three days.

Authorities say Jacqueline Watts abandoned her 92-year-old grandmother, took out a mortgage on her grandmother's home, and used the money to buy a $60,000 Humvee.

Watts is in jail on $300,000 bail.

Her grandmother was treated for malnutrition and dehydration.
