Grandmother had a heart attack today

88 years old. she is in the hospital right now.

my cousin/her grandson has his wedding this coming weekend.

my grandfather/her husband turns 90 in september.

keep her in your prayers please.

going to see her now, she is not optimistic herself, saying she isnt going to come back

dont know if it is the meds, or what.

🙁

UPDATE: just came back, she is doing much better. When the paramedics got to her, she had a 34bpm pulse, and they couldnt get a blood pressure reading. very lathargic.

When i got to the hospital, she had a 40 ish BPM, and now when i left (she went to a larger/beter hospital) she has a 60bpm pulse, so getting much better. Very responsive, active (as you can be laying down) talkative etc.

o yea, we are pretty sure it was NOT a heart attack.

updated:
Okay, the final diagnosis is... (well more final)

1/2 of her heart failed on her. causing her loss in BPM and Pressure.
then it slowly came back.
she is back up into the 60's for a BPM now.

well, her mother did live to be 103...

Thoughts are with you

When my grandfather died, he told my father hours prior "goodbye", so hopefully in your case is the meds.

If the attack took out to many of her solar sats, it may be hard for her to rebuild. Let's hope for you that isn't the case.

good luck!
i really should go see my grandma. I haven't seen her since i replaced the PSU on her PC

same thing with my grandfather (my mom's father) also. He was in the hospital for about a month but a day before he passed away, he did tell my aunts (mom's elder sisters) that he is not going to come back. I only remember him vaguely b/c he passed away when I was only like 11 yrs old.

Good luck for you, OP. hopefully it is the meds in your case.

My father in law said all sorts of weird shi+ when he was under meds after his first heart attack. They should soon be putting her through all sorts of tests and the docs should be able to tell what sort of chances she has and what procedures may help her.

I hope things work out.

Good news man.

Use this time to tell her how you feel. they're getting up there in age and there's no time like the present to cherish the time you have with them.
