Just so you know, the 6800GS performs identically to the 6800GT so if you see one of those at a decent price, don't get confused. The 6800GS has 12 pixelpipes vs. the 6800GT's 16, but it seems to compensate for it with a higher clock on the core. (425MHz vs. 350 MHz).
If your budget is strapped, get the 6600GT, or find a significantly cheaper X1600Pro with less memory.
6800GS is equal to the 6800GT in PCI-e only
The 6800gs is a 12 pipeline card, clocked higher.
6800gt is a 16 pipeline card clocked at 350mhz. Most make it to almost the speed of 6800ultra which is 425mhz
