My soon to be 80 year old grandfather had surgey on a carotid artiery yesterday... its hard to believe that hes going to be 80 years old soon. The surgey was yesterday, and he called today from home and sounded like nothing happened. He was like " yeah I have 47 staples in my neck, some of them 3/4 of an inch long" :Q At 80 years old, I wish ill be that tough 😛

Wow, sounds amazing. He sounds like he's one of those guys that just takes everything in stride no matter what happens...

I didn't really mean to say awesome....that sounded bad... I mean, he sounds to be doing well so that's great! Anyway, sorry for the odd enthusiasm....:Q

thanks for the thoughts guys and gals 🙂 ... and yes i can not spell, well i can spell, i just type so damn fast that i always mess up... he should be just fine though. We werent expecting a call from him till at least monday, thats why it came as such a shock so early.

Well if his surgery was an endarterectomy and it was successful, it can be one of those surgeries where, in a matter of hours post-surgery, the patient feels better than they have in years. Blocking blood flow to the brain isn't cool, and when you remove that blockage, the patients usually feels a lot better than they did before the surgery. Same thing with many heart surgeries to restore coronary blood flow. Immediate improvement.
