Im 19 and my grandad just died. I was very close to him, I have a holiday coming up on wednesday but that means I'll miss the funeral. My parents say it's up to me.

I was spose to be going KOS for a week with 9 freinds.

I dont know what to do now..

Call it off or go...

I'm like you, 19 and very close with my grand daddy.

If he died I'd be the first guy reading the eulogy.

Grandfather only dies once, you can have trips with your friends for many years to come. You're 19, and very young. I think you'd forever regret missing your granddad's funeral but will forget about the trip a week after it's supposed to be over..

I want to. My mum told me to go on holiday, but Im not sure. I worked hard through the year and got great results. But i love my grandad, top guy, and so kind to me and my family.

Cancel trip, I was abroad when my grandmother passed away. I still wish I could've said that one last goodbye.

^ It's the right thing to do. If you don't, you WILL regret it later. Especially if you were close to him. You only get one chance to say goodbye the right way.

Was underway on deployment when my grandmother passed away. Haven't even got to see the video of the german funeral yet. (I'm actually 100% german, so the funeral of my grandmother was held with German the only spoken language. Wish I could have been there...) Sorry to hear that boss... Go to the funeral.
Tas.

Yep... Such is life... Stuff like that happens once a lifetime. If your friends don't understand, fvck em. They'll get over it.

I've lost several people that I was close to.... for me, there would be no question... cancel the vacation, stay for the funeral.

Sorry to hear it, man. I'd go to the funeral, if I were you. One last chance and all 🙁.

Yeah broken into and now this. I worked some mad shifts so I could pay for my hols, and now this happens..

What does money have to do with it? Money doesn't get him back, and neither does a holiday. Fact is, and it may sound harsh, nothing will get him back. But at least show the respect and spine to pay him your last respects. It's the honourful/just/correct thing to do.

I feel your loss. I lost my great grandfather a couple of days ago. I'm currently abroad so I didnt have chance to be there when he passed away. I'm going to the funeral no matter the cost. Its the only way for me to find some closure.

GO to the funeral. You will regret it later. Dont givea sh!t about the money. You will always earn more money but you will never earn a grandfather.

He's dead. It's not like he'll miss you.

Go on your trip, I'd say. You can always visit his grave later.

Still....I'd feel like i was insulting him if I didnt go. My mum wants me to go on holiday, my dad says its open, Im not sure.

It's a no brainer. Don't listen to him, Clarkey. He might not miss you, but you can show that you will miss him.

Go the funeral, you can share your wonderful memories of him with those that need it. 🙁 Sorry for your loss.
