Amazon is taking pre-release orders for GTAIII for Windows 95/98 (and presumably XP), which is coming out on April 17. It's $49.99. The price is standard retail price, but this is hot because you can at least get the game when it comes out. This will probably be the #1 game for PCs when it's released and will probably be difficult to find.

If you've played this on PS2, then you already know how sweet this game is.

Awesome! I've been waiting for this for a long long time. I was afraid that they would cancel the release due to those crazy parental watch groups. Thank goodness for freedom of speech.
 
$49.99 is far from a good deal.

I preordered this from ebgames back in like November for $30
yes, that's right $30.

So I assume $50 is probably going to be the regular price. So not sure why you'd post it in a hot deals forum, as it's bitterly freezing cold. The availability of a product that just has to be burnt to a CD is never a problem. You never hear someone saying "Man, I was trying to get a copy of Windows XP but they are sold out everywhere! <Sure maybe the initial week it will be, but it's not like it's in limited production>. Thanks anyway for informing us that Amazon is preselling it though.
 
$50 is not a hot deal. I would wait until it is released, im sure retailers will have lower prices then this.

Not too flame or thread crap, but...

#1) There will be piles and piles of this game everywhere when it's released. It'll be $29.95 the week it's released at either CompUSA or Best Buy, and there will still be a mountain of copies everywhere.

#2) $19.95 is a hot deal.

#3) $29.95 is a hot deal.

#4) $39.95 is a warm deal.

#5) $49.95 is suggested retail price.

PC version is supposed to have superior textures and overall graphics. Of course, we're heard this about alot of console-to-PC games (*cough*Spiderman*cough*). Otherwise I don't think it'll differ too much.

I don't think it's going to have multiplayer, so the answer would be no 🙂
 
Anyone know if this is coming out on DVD, CD, or both?
If it's cd, they'll have to trim quite a bit to make it fit, don't remember though what was taking up most of the space though. If it was music they can convert that to mp3...
 
freejack, if anything it will come out on 2 cd's. DVD isn't a big enough standard yet. Any game publisher would be shooting themselves in the foot if they released on dvd only, at least currently. Granted most of us high-end users have dvd players, but a lot of people don't. I say give it another year and we will start to see more DVD games. As it stands, most games are coming on 2 cd's now, if not more. In fact, I can't remember the last game I bought that was 1 cd.

So to answer your question in one sentence, yes it will be on cd, and will probably be on more than one.
 
I agree, not a hot deal. Wait a week to three after release and it will go on sale anyway.

For those who MUST have, check out GoGamer, they will sell it for $42.90 after it's released.

 
At the rate things are going this game may not be out for a long time. While Amazon is saying April 17th, Ebgames has pushed their release date up to May 29th, and another site says December 4th, though that site was an england one oddly enough.
I won't complain if it's April 17th, but I won't hold my breath either. :/
 
Okay, let's warm this up a touch by applying a $10 amazon coupon, I'm sure they can be found.

This at least gets it down to $39.99?!? 🙂
 
It's not a Hot Deal that it's $50, but it is a Hot Deal that we don't have to spend $300 on way outdated technology to play the game.
