ElFenix got it right, but everyone else is still getting it wrong:
It's the CHEROKEE, the CHEROKEE, not the GRAND Cherokee that's getting canned.
It's too old a design and sales were down 14% last year. DCX is making a new SUV called the Liberty (I'm guessing it's like the Ford Escape mini-SUV) and they'll have the Grand Cherokee too.
This reminds me of the the diaper-filling that went on when it was announced that "The Matrix" wasn't going to available initially for retail purchase. Peeps were screaming "CENSORSHIP!!!" and worse, blaming anyone and everyone for their favorite movie EVER being denied them. Nevermind that it was available on DVD at first and then at sell-thru prices ($15-$25) after the film company had soaked Blockbuster et al for the rental stock. (Rental tapes sell for ~$100:Q) They just went off half-cocked and half informed.
Get ALL the facts before getting crazy with accusations, mmmkay?
