Where do you see the holiday release? In the first question in the edmunds interview:

IL: Any details on when Gran Turismo 5 will be released in the U.S.?

Yamauchi: It's not decided yet.

It will. Have you played GT5 Prologue???

No, I'm a huge racing games fan, last GT I played was GT2 on the PS1, since then I've been playing on the PC but there's no hope it'll get a game like this I might spring for a PS3.

I can assure you that GT5P will look every bit as good as the E3 trailer, 60fps at 1080p.

I'm guessing it will be done when its done. Polyphony is infamous for that. They're pretty slow to get games out but I guess I'd rather have them take their time and get it right rather than rush and screw it up.

Will it have trucks? I pretty much only bought GT4 for the trucks and was highly disappointed Forza doesn't have trucks.

now it just needs bikes, drag racing, dirt oval, motox, hill climb, monster trucks, go karts, and lawn mowers.

the offroading in the previous GT that had it (i think 3 not 100% certain) was a lot of fun. i actually liked it more than the normal races cause those tracks get boring.

Both 3 and 4 had dirt rally tracks. They were just on a circuit, though. Dedicated rally games tend to have stages like in actual rallying.

Ya, I loved the rally courses in GT3, but there weren't any long point-to-point stages. GT5 appears to be ready to buck this trend.

To be fair, the title Gran Turismo explicitly refers to Grand Touring cars, which are used in sports car racing events (commonly referred to as GT racing). Sports car racing is not the same as stock car racing (NASCAR). Apart from driving fast, there is little in common between a 24 hour endurance race through the curves of Le Mans in an Audi R10 TDI and 500 laps in a circle at Daytona in one of four identical looking cars whose only difference is who advertises on it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that adding additional things to the GT brand is a bad thing (rally racing certainly isn't a GT event), I'm merely pointing out that stock car racing is not the image that is conjured up when one thinks of a Grand Tourer race.

neither is WRC or formula 1. GT has grown to encompass more that just touring cars.

I've been on information overload this past week with all the collective, cool announcements as I'm sure most of you guys. I may have missed it, but is there going to be interoperability between GT5 and the PSP's GT Mobile? I remember the Sony dude and Kaz talking about sharing cars between garages within GT Mobile, but I don't remember if GT5 was mentioned.

Kaz said he would like to add garage interoperability between GT Mobile and GT5, but there's nothing concrete, just something he'd like to do in the future.

If they did that, I'd definitely purchase both games. I'd be able to play GT Mobile when it's released (Oct 09) and work at building a garage and be able to transfer some to my GT5 garage. Without that interoperability, I can't see buying both or even one of them.

OK, not ENTIRELY for the trucks, but once I found out it had trucks, that was pretty much all I drove. My 700hp Dodge Ram quad cab 4x4 destroyed all.
