Been playing this recently...and over the past 3 years or whenever it came out. I get bored with it after too long. I'm getting pretty far along now though. By pretty far I mean about 35%. I have 65 cars though, probably 60 of them coming from wins. Anyways...was just curious to see if anyone else still plays.

Also I just recently noticed the 24h endurance races actually run for 24 hour...that's ridiculous :p - No one actually plays that long I imagine. Can do it in B-spec at 3x speed but have to go back to 3x speed after every pitstop, which is fairly often. It'll stay at 1x speed if you don't attend to it...or so I think.

And lastly, wondering if anyone had some good track times for me to try and beat. I'm not great but would be nice to race against someone other than computer players and myself. If you do post a time don't forget to mention what car/upgrades you used so I can use the same. Not currently playing GT4? Well, break it out and challenge me :) - If not I guess I can always head to the GTplanet message board.

They were in Gran Turismo 3 also. I remember the 100 lap Test Track endurance race. I just played about three hours every day for a week to finish it. It was rather monotonous listening to my 787B rotary engine screaming at redline for that long.

I'm going to argue with you that there were no 24-hour endurance races in GT3. I played the hell out of that game, and all I remember were 10 endurance races, the longest of which latest 3, maybe 4 hours. Not unless something unlocked once you got those 10 done, of which I only ever completed 5, but I still do not remember any 24-hour events.

The last endurance race in the game was called Like the Wind. It was the last race in the game before the F1 cup. I remember it being around a 100 laps around Test Track, and it was far longer than any endurance race before it. It took me a week to finish it.

Did you leave your PS2 on or what?

Don't be intimidated to post track times. I probably won't beat them anyways.

Yeah, I pretty much never turned my PS2 off anyway, just left it always on the system menu. I would just pause after a while and turn the tv off and then come back the next day to finish a few more laps.

I really liked GT3 but this is why I stopped playing it (years ago) I hated the races that would take hours, it was very very boring. Sure it was 'realistic' but sometimes realism in a VIDEO GAME isn't needed.

I enjoyed the addition of the endurance races, they offered a bit of a mix. Like I said before, I finished 5 of the 10 endurance races back when I played the hell out of GT3. I think the longest one I played, though, was around 3 hours or so. Although I beat the easiest endurance race on the test oval legitimately, I did go back later to try and win a different car (each endurance gave a chance of winning one of four cars) by using the Suzuki Escudo (I think that was the name of it). You could upgrade it to where it had something like 1800 horsepower or something ridiculous like that. All you had to do then was set a heavy book on the gas button of the controller, then come back 45 minutes later to see you won by a few laps. It was so fast that it would just ride the outside walls and continue around the oval. The competition never had a chance :).

There was this really strange thing you could do with that car. If you set it so all it's weight was on the back of the car, it would go flying up on two wheels and speed up to 500mph.

there's this one rubberband trick you could have done if you had a modded car that was superfast in a straight line, like the Escudo.
