i just saw a commercial for gran turismo 4, im going to go whack off right now, excuses me.

3 minuets later

that?s better. but seriously, this game is going to be the best game for ps2 i feel

GT4 and the new Metal Gear that will coming out soon are the only reasons why my PS2 isn't in a box in the attic right now.

funny how after years now i feel that GT3 is still the best driving game.

Forza is going to give it a run for its money.

Man I fvcking stayed up 4hrs to do all the dam licenses in GT3 😀. That doesn't include the S License, as those took me about an hr each!

I am SOOOOOOOOOO dam good at that game. Can't wait until they get their sh!t together and get a dam GT game online! I quite fancy a 16 multiplayer one if it was possible 😀

Hey anyone know why they only have about 6 cars in any one race? (Power reason?) I'd like more.

yeah i heard it has damages and stuff

but still, i wouldn't trust microsoft to make a seriously addictive driving game. that role is reserved exclusively for SCEI ever since the original GT came out.

You wouldn't think it, but think of this. Each car is comprised of 3 times as many polygons, and you know those tire marks you leave? They stay there through the race. Well, nice and dandy, right? Well, following tire lines will actually improve your time because of the increased grip that it allows your tires to have.

And, it'll probably have a lot better online play then GT4.

I love GT4, but competition is good for all of us. Especially at 3 times the polygons.

I don't care if it has 2000 or 20,000 poly's, its all about the feel of the game, the controls, etc. That?s where GT always excelled at. If the other game can match that or best it, then it?ll be the new king.

Edit - Stupid spelling

No as SCEI (Sony Computer Entertainment Inc) makes it and not SCEA. But they will publish it for the Americans though.

Ditto.

Well the only thing I'd like is at least 10 cars in the race but the more the merrier I say 😀. More so for online play. I don't think GT4 has online play 🙁

And another thing who the hell races with the outside car vew?! So you don't get to see the car your driving in and just about see the other cars as you go by 🙂

For me GT had a GREAT feel. It just played and handled right. I love it. The series has been great.

I just want online play dam it!

I think GT4 features large packs and some mixed-class (ALMS style) races.

The game has shifted over time from a strictly tuner game where you can have one car beats all (Racing modded Mitsu GTO TT in GT1) to a multifaceted game where you need a diverse library to beat the game (Though in GT3 a fully ramped R32 VSII is more than sufficient for everything but some IB and IA class races, it even does the rally stuff well, though you have to tune it down quite far to prevent from just riding the walls) - my personal GT3 set consists of a lot of show cars, a full kit Skyline R32 VSPEC II, a full kit Viper GTS, a full kit Gen1 Miata, a Corvette C5R, several MR-drivetrain vehicles (I can't pick just one that does everything I need it to, I find myself hopping between them to cover everything), and a fscking truckload of other vehicles. I'm still working on LeMans style cars.

I own somthing to compete in every brand or model race (and win), and it's all paid for by running my F1 cars around the Speedway endurance race (I find that using the F1's as anything other than cash cows takes all the fun out of everything. Occasionally I'll bust them out to crack a particularly tough race, though)

And I still havn't beaten everything yet.

Oh, and does anyone have any tactics for that EVIL stock-miatas-only endurance race? I swear those other cars aren't stock, they pull away WAY too fast, and I'm driving the fastest line possible and gnashing the accelerator.

December 11 is the day when we can get our hands on it............. and since we are on the good news half life goes gold on November 16!
yes i see that GT4 has no online, oh well its going to kick balls anyways

IIRC it allows you to get a racing transmission/light weight stage3 right? well im pretty sure light weight stage3 and racing slicks are allowed in that.

and yes GT has never been about graphics (although GT does have good graphics, and the first time i played that ending bonus high-res bonus track on PSone... WOW!). hell it went from a power-sliding happy game (GT1 and 2) to a serious racing game that GT3 is. You actually have to brake properly, and less powerful cars can beat more powerful cars (a JGTC R34 in my opinion is much better than a R34 with everything... though the street R34 wins in brute force accelerating), and in some races you can only win by skill (such as the stock miata race, or how about the toyota vitz cup? that is pretty evil)

ok anyway, i can't wait for this game to come out
