In the sentence "Our hopes are to erect the building at our field this spring so that we?ll have it ready for the start of the season", should the word spring be capitalized?
In general, are the words spring, summer and fall capitalized?

Source:

"Seasons are lowercased (spring, summer, fall, winter) unless part of a proper noun (Dartmouth Winter Festival)."

Do capitalize days of the week, months, holidays. Do not, however, capitalize the names of seasons (spring, summer, fall, autumn, winter).

edit: that sentence sounds funny to me anyway. I would say "Our hope is to erect the building on our field this spring, so it will be ready for the start of the season" -- but that's just me.

Damn you for that edit. I gotta edit now. I wish I had someone in the household to proofread.

No, try this: We hope to erect the building on our field, so that it would be ready for the start of the season.
