Grammar question, when asking for feedback

Is it more grammatically correct to use

"Have you gotten a chance to retrieve...from yesterday"
or
"Have you had a chance to retrieve... from yesterday"

"Have you retrieved . . ."

More to the point, "Have you examined . . ." since, formally, the person may have "retrieved" but not examined . . . it. And you do wish to know if they've looked it over, no?

However, as fussy as I may appear to be to others here in matters of grammar, I would opt for the slightly friendlier and more "conversational", "Have you had a chance to look over . . ."
