Grammar Nazis...

Is "I am contented." as a sentence grammatically correct?

I say no based on the thinking that you can have a contented smile on your face or you can be contented with something. Those are the only times I think contented works. Am I wrong?

I am content. I am content with your response. I have been contented. I have been contented with your response.

It doesn't matter which form you use. They're both adjectives and both correct.
