"Having achieved A, I now want to accomplish B."

I personally think this opening in a cover letter is awkward because the underlined starts first.

What do you call that, the actual sentence label? Possessive opening? (making shit up).

'I think this sentence is awkward because of ____ opening."

I don't know what you'd called that particular sentence structure, but the sentence is awkward because I wouldn't expect the very first sentence of a cover letter to trumpet supposed accomplishments.

Passive voice. Replace it with active voice. "I anticipate accomplishing B because I recently accomplished A." As grrl says, though, that's a peculiar topic for a cover letter opening.
