I'm a freshmen in community college.

This is for English 22. This is the English right before English 100. We are focusing mainly on grammar right now.

This class will get us ready for English 100.

Class numbers mean pretty much nothing unless you're going to the school being referenced.

The title of the movie does not need to be separated by commas, and it should be either italicized or underlined. And the third and fourth sentences are really just fragments.

Oh, and I wouldn't use the words "takes place" back to back.

The movie Good Will Hunting takes place in Boston, Massachusetts, between the rich and poor sides of the city. The rich side being the areas of white collar workers, such as those who graduated from colleges like Harvard university and M.I.T. The poor side being places such as run down houses, bars and other blue collar areas.

That's the best I can do. You need to re-do it, though, though. It's pretty weak, no offense or anything. I haven't seen the movie, so.. ;)

Is that like your opening paragraph or something?

Metaphor, the paragraph reads very choppy and doesn't flow from point to point. You seem very apprehensive in your writing of the paragraph. Your posts here, though, seem to flow fine and you have proper grammar. Do you get uptight and nervous over writing projects?

Yeah, that was kinda what I was wondering. It sounds like he just doesen't have a very good idea on how to write an opening paragraph. Not putting you down or anything, just ...

Hey Aceman, do you really notice that?

What I notice is I just think up stuff right and write it out with what I think is proper grammar. And then sometimes when I re-read what I wrote I think like WTF did I actually write that? LOL it's kinda funny cuz sometimes I think where in the world did I come up with that setence LOL.

Yeah guys, I get kinda uptight I guess while trying to do this.

I mean I passed HS with classes such as watching tv all day.

I'm just a lazy bastard. I know I got the skills in my brain, just that I'm very lazy.

That's really not a bad way to start. Just put down what you want to say without worrying about proper grammar or sentence structure and then go back and keep playing with it until it sounds good.

And this isn't a jab, but do you read much? That's one of the best ways to improve your writing skills.

First of all... I don't think it's "white collared." I think it's simply "white collar." The first two statements can be linked with a semicolon, or you can combine them. I forget who said the title needs to be either Underlined, or Italicized but they are right... however you can also put the title in quotations.

Next, you do run some fragments. Such as colleges like, Harvard Univesity and MIT University. Well, this is the end of a statement... so where's the beginning? You can say. The white collar workers attened colleges like...

Also, you're sort of all over the place with that paragraph. You are mixing white collar education with blue collar residential status.

What exactly are you trying to say? How about you just say it... and we'll help you put into something appropriate for class.

This is my rewrite.

The movie, "Good Will Hunting," takes place in between rich and poor in Boston, Massachusetts. The more affluent white collar workers attend Universities such as Harvard and MIT, while the poorer blue colar class didn't have access to these educational facilities.

That's okay... this is the most difficult part of any paper for most of us.
