Hey guys,
Im writing a paper for my chemistry class and have a question about the capitalization of the first letter of a chemical element. Obviously, in the beginning of a sentence, it is capitalized. But say I refer to "carbon" in the middle of a sentence, is the C capitalized? I guess one can argue that since it is a proper noun it must always be capitalized, but after seeing a lot chemistry websites, I see that it is not capitalized in the middle of a sentence.
Thanks in Advance,
