"Grainy" Pix ==> Need to explicitly install video drivers? ?

I just reinstalled my win2k.
I dont recall ever having to install video drivers.
I may be forgetting a step or setting.

However, on this new build, the pictures are grainy/raw/faded colors
(Like a real bad digital camera. or like negatives)

In desktop->settings, I see the right brand of video cards are detected (dual ATI 3d Rage Pro's)
Set for 256 colors.


Did I forget something?

In fact, I KNOW I didnt install video drivers last time I made a new build.
My video card driver CD's are old, and dont even have win2k drivers!
I must need to tweak some setting

Oops, just had to change my settings from "256 colors" to "24 bit true color"
