Yup so Graduation is upon me in a few months. I have the ceremony on the 25th July.

So what were your experiences like?

Gown hire: £35 and I'll hire it for another week at £10 (so I can get photo's taken with family at home as parents run a business)
Pictures: £26 for one 10" x 8" and two 5" x 4" 😛 I can scan and print my own ones if I want a bigger picture.

Other picture packages up to £135 😛

It will start at 3pm but it will probably drag on for hrs.

I've had a friend not attend his Graduation ceremony in fact as he didn't fancy it and saved some money.

I'm going to attend as it will the end of my BSc degree and be nice to meet my friends who will attend.

I didn't go. I didn't do anything at my school that wasn't necessary for survival, so I just didn't go. I picked up my diploma at the office a couple days later.

I went to mine.

it meant a lot to my parents, which was the #1 deciding factor in my going to it, but I also had a lot of fun. there were parties all over town the week prior to and the night following graduation.

grats

i went to mine, only because my parents were coming. and they told me they only went bc my moms parents wanted to go...
i showed up late, was a litttle hungover. took a few hours but then it was all done. was about as painful as a long mass at church.

It's a once in a lifetime event. Might as well check it out...

It's more about sharing a good time with friends and family. Even if it does feel a bit cheesy, it's still fun.

I went to my high school graduation and my four year degree graduation. I skipped my two year associates degree graduation and I'll be skipping my masters degree graduation.

Nice experiences.

My parents can't come as they have to run the family business and they would not be able to make it in time. I'm sure the ceremony is going to take hrs. It would have been cool to have my parents there but they can't so that is that.

I'll go, hang with my mates, get my picture taken and do something afterwards.

Yes it is a once in a life time thing, unless I do another degree 😛.

The price of the gown hire is a bit high and the pictures are a total rip off but I suppose they are going to rank in the money!

I didn't go to my college graduation.. I finished in december, and back then they only had graduation after spring quarter.. by then I'd been done for 6 months and it just seemed silly.. I already had my diploma.

I did go to my sister's, though. 🙂

It was alright...it was more for my parents than me...

I still had one more final the next day so I couldn't make too much merry...

I don't really care to go to mine but my parents would enjoy it so I'll go for them.

I hated my HS one. I'm a big guy (admitedly both fat, but also a large frame overall) and it was a pain in the ass to sit on those cheap tin chairs for 3 hours and cook in dress clothes with those damn burqas on.

College graduation will be infinitely worse because there are a billion more students and speeches heh.

I'm one of the people that didn't go to my college graduation... High school graduation was a mission. I was REALLY hung over.

I just went to my graduation party and commencement yesterday for my MBA

at the dinner, I was recognized being the top 4 students in the program.. that was very SWEET! 😀😀

Well personally to me I don't need a piece of paper to say or an event. The times I have spent at Uni was great. The work fun and challenging etc etc etc.

I'm going to go to get the pics for my family 😛 I'll be the first person in my family to get a degree so it will make my parents happy.

It will only be once so I'll just go and have some fun.

Congrats dude! Top 4 is no easy feat. I'd settle for top 10 🙂

I didn't go to my college graduation because I finished my degree as a part-time student while working full-time, about 8 years after I started college. It's not like I was graduating with "my class". I think my parents would have liked to go, but they understood.
