What are some of your favorite graduation songs? I'm graduating from high school in a couple of weeks and I feel like walking down memory lane. I'll miss high school but no way in hell would I ever want to repeat the last 4 years.

I personally love Here's to the Night - Eve 6.

Agreed. I'm a junior this year, but I want Green Day - Good Ridance (sp?) (time of your life) as out graduation song. That would kick ass!!

We played VitamineC's Graduation for my class song. I cried while walking off the platform cuz I already missed people I knew I wouldn't see again. :(

At my high school graduation, three classmates of mine did a rendition of John Lennons "In My Life" and sang it to the graduating class. It was very beautiful and brought many a tear to people eyes.

"But of all these friends and lovers,
there is no one compares with you.
And these memories lose their meaning,
when I think of love as something new.

Though I know I'll never lose affection,
For people and things that went before.
I know I'll stop and think about them,
In my life, I love you more."

:(:)

That song by Vitamin C was popular when I graduated, but wasn't played at my graduation. In fact, we didn't even have a real band there. In the past, the school band would play Pomp and Circumstance, but the fire marshal decided that having as many people gathered plus the band was a fire hazard, so they canned the band. I was mad, since I'd played in it for three previous years and then when it's my turn to graduate, we get a stinking recording. Green Day's "Time of Your Life" would be another good song, I would have to say.

hard to match topic. tried to match mood instead. many are love-related.

slow and contemplative:
sarah mclachlan - i will remember you
ben harper - walk away, by my side
inoj - time after time
enya - exile
erasure - how many times
the clash - every little bit hurts

nostalgic:
louis armstrong - wonderful world
van morrison - brown eyed girl

on a lighter note:
2gether - before we say goodbye

Bump. My graduation is in 8 hours. I'm sitting here in the dark listening to some nostalgic songs and tears are rolling down my cheeks :(

I listened to Vitamin C- Graduation, Green Day- Time of your Life, and Eve 6- Here is to the Night around the time I graduated and many months after that. I keep remembering high school (which I graduated 2 years ago) and listen to these songs whenever I feel a lil nostalgic. Part of me misses high school but another part of me is happy that its all over with.

I am only a junior, but will probably move to Chicago this summer and leave all of my friends behind. I am the one that created the "memory" slideshow for the seniors this year, and i synched the slides to vitamin c's graduation. i think that is an awesome song, and i know that it meant a lot to the seniors.

Hmmm...to be honest, I don't remember what they played at my graduation (3 years ago). I do know a few that might be good, though. (Warning: all of the following are likely classic rock songs, some may be even older. Anybody that doesn't like this stuff, stop reading now. :D )

Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl
Bob Seger - In Your Time
Louis Armstrong - Wonderful World

Those are deffinate. The rest? Maybe:

Tom Petty - Learning to Fly (after all, by this point, unless you're living at home &/or going to college, isn't that what you should be doing? figuratively, of course)
Van Halen - Right Now

And of course, there's always: Alice Cooper - School's Out :D

I'll try to think of a few more tommorow.
